 Camp Lily Pool Time

The famed Pagoda isn't the only thing located on top of Mount Penn in Reading, Berks County.  High above the city, you'll also find Easter Seals Eastern Pennsylvania's Camp Lily, at the intersection of List and Angorra Roads.

Camp Lily is a six-week summer day camp where children ages 8 to 21, with and without disabilities or special needs, enjoy the fun of summertime together.  Our staff is dedicated to enriching the lives of campers through an atmosphere of caring, dedication, integration and acceptance.

 Camp Lily Arts and Crafts

Camp Lily is a busy place every day of the week.  Each morning begins with circle and square time, where campers sing or play a game and discuss the day's events.  Each week, special guests visit to teach campers about horticulture, nutrition, safety and other special topics.  After lunch, everyone engages in an arts and crafts activity, swimming and games.  The beautiful, wooded setting is ideally suited to Camp Lily recreational activities and is close to medical services.

Once each week, campers and chaperones pack their bags to go on a field trip.  These exciting excursions may include a visit to a working dairy farm, fishing at a trout hatchery or visiting a local historical site.

According to Camp Lily Director, Michele Rittle, the benefits to children are many.  "We see each child become more secure in his or her own environment," said Rittle.  "Each child is guided through new experiences leading to success and they develop a positive self image.  They make all types of new friends, kids with special needs and kids without special needs and that makes Camp Lily unique."
